We’re accepting applications from OCT 1 2020 to SEPT 5 2021!
ATTENTION!
- Only Eurasian Creative Guild’s members are allowed to participate in the contest. To know about membership in details and register tap HERE
- For ‘first-time’ participants in the subcategories «Publicism», «Book review» and «Illustration» it is possible to get FREE MEMBERSHIP until 01.12.2021 if you volunteer to fulfil the tasks of the organising committee (writing work or make artwork on a specific topic).
Be aware of providing your data and photos as they are used for publishing on the website .

We are glad to announce that accepting applications to X “Open Eurasian Literary Festival and Book Forum” (OEBF)
GET STARTED!!
The contest is open to writers, poets, translators, illustrators and journalists from across the world to participate in the competition with a total prize fund of
$20,000(USD)
You can participate in each of the following categories:
- Prose
- Short prose
- Poetry
- Publicism
- Book review
- Literary translation
- Illustration
-Works that containpornography, calls for extremism, propaganda of violence and cruelty, national intolerance, drugs and other inappropriate texts are not eligible in this competition. Participants may be disqualified from the entire competition if they submit this kind of work in any category or subcategory.
-The organisers retain the right to remove the participant’s work from the official website of the contest at any time.
-The organisers are not obliged to alter or change any work on request of the participant.

-Exclusive copyright for all submitted works belong to the authors. In accordance with the legislation of the United Kingdom the participant who submitted the work, the author of which he\she is not, takes full responsibility to the holder of exclusive copyrights to the work.
-All conditions on the official website of the competition may be changed by the Organisers without negotiation and notification of participants and other parties involved.
If the application conditions are met, the work will appear on the official website of the contest until SEPT 25 2021, so that readers can vote for it.
However, readership vote is not critical to the selection of finalists.
In case there are less than 20 participants in any category or subcategory, the prize will not be awarded.
PROSE AND SHORT PROSE

Works are accepted in Russian, English, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tajik, Ukrainian, Romanian, Belarusian and Tatar languages. Contest works can be performed in literary genres of poetry, short story, novel or essay on a free topic.

- a synopsis and/or an excerpt from the work (from 1000 to 1500 words) for publication on the website
- the full text of the work (as an attachment)

Dear participants, please be careful! If a participant doesn’t provide a short synopsis, the organising committee of the contest may disqualify the participant or may independently select and publish any excerpt from the work. The synopsis should be 1400 to 1500 words. Replacement and correction of the published synopsis at a later time will not be permitted.

POETRY
Participants can submit:
- One poem or thematic collection of poetry;
- Works not previously published in English.

- an excerpt from the work (from 1 to 5 poems) for publication on the website

Young poets ( under 25 y.o incl) ,who have not previously participated in the contest are GIVEN free participation in the «Poetry» section. The works of all the winners of this year will be published in the Almanac of POETRY “Voices of Friends” (one page for free).
Works are accepted in Russian, English, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tajik, Ukrainian, Romanian, Belarusian languages.
Dear participants, please be careful! If a participant does not provide an excerpt (in case of submission of a collection), the organising committee of the contest may disqualify the participant or may independently select and publish any excerpt from the work. Replacement and correction of the published synopsis at a later time will not be permitted.

PUBLICISM
Participants can submit one work which has not been previously published (from 500 to 4000 words).
The topic of work is the applicants choice — however please see terms and conditions of works which will not be accepted.
Works are accepted in Russian, English, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tajik, Ukrainian, Romanian, Belarusian languages.

BOOK REVIEW
Participants can submit:
— The review can be written on a book that is freely available on the Internet or you will be expected to email or post a copy of the book by request of the jury;
— One work which has not been previously published in English (no more than 500 words).

- the full review for publication on the website

LITERARY TRANSLATION
Participants can submit:
— A whole work or part of it (from 1000 to 3000 words);
— One work not previously published in English;
— A translation of an excerpt can be written of one of the books published by publishing house Hertfordshire Press or a translation of one of the OEBF contestants’s work of previous years. The list of works of previous years and links to them can be found on the competition sites: 2012 — 2016 on the site, 2017 here, 2018 — 2021 here.
Accepted translation into Russian, English, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tajik, Ukrainian, Romanian, Belarusian languages.

When you filling out the registration form of the OEBF contest participant, do not forget to write the name of the participant, the year of his participation in the OEBF contest and the name of the work on which you have completed the translation, or the name of the book published by Hertfordshire Press, on which you made the translation.
Also, if a participant does not provide an excerpt (in case of submission of a collection), the organising committee of the contest may disqualify the participant or may independently select and publish any excerpt from the work. Replacement and correction of the published synopsis at a later time will not be permitted.

ILLUSTRATION
Participants can submit:
— One to five to works from each applicant;
— Illustration(s) of one of the books published by the publishing house Hertfordshire Press;
— Or illustration(s) of one of the works of the participants of the OEBF competitions of previous years;
— Or literary works submitted works to the competition this year.

- the title(s) of the works & the name of the literary works being depicted.
- photographs of the illustrations no smaller than 300dpi, not less than 1mb (as an attachment)
- a photo of the author (alone) in good quality (size not less than 1 Mb)
Dear participants, please be careful! When you fill out the OEBF contest registration form, do not forget to write the participant’s name, year of participation in the OEBF contest and the name of the work to which your illustration was made, or the name of the book published by Hertfordshire Press.
Also, If a participant does not provide images, the organising committee of the contest may disqualify the participant or may independently select and publish any excerpt from the work. Replacement and change of the images at a later time will not be permitted.
